Goodnite from Lubbock

Just cooked some steaks on the outside fire pit. Having some vino on
the last nite of the trip. Not many pics today, as that trip from
Santa Fe thru the pandhandle is flat flat. Hopefully some good pics
on drive in tommorrow. About an 8 hour drive home to Austin.

About another hour or two to get to Lubbock. Then will call it a day
of driving.

Drove thru town of Fort Summer, NM. Gravesite of Billy the Kid. Had
site barred up so people won't steal headstone. Happened a few times.

On drive towards Texas. Stopped alongside road to eat lunch. Old

Goodnite from Santa Fe

Took a stroll on the main square. Went in a few Fu Fu art gallerys.
I'm convinced I can frame any of my pictures, frame them and charge
$4500! Some prints going for $30k and not even the original. Ate
dinner at a diner on square, corn tortilla tacos. Soppapillas for
desert. Back to RV around corner in some neighborhood. Leaving for
Tejas in the morning. Prob try to break it up and get to somewhere
past lubbock. Nite. Peace out. Skip.

Me on bike

Am I gonna have to shave my beard off after this trip?! Bout to eat

Small bike ride into town this afternoon.

Pagosa springs

Got here today. RV site is right at the base of the springs. Took a
swim in hot tub and steamer. Rode bikes down to small town and went
in rock shop. Bought a few things. Cooking HB helper tonight.

Lil bridge we walked across last nite to dinner. Our camsite is just
to the left on water. Was nice pitstop.

Really like this sw part of state. Valleys, fields and mtn tops. Few
ski areas around I see. On our way now to Pagosa Springs.

Hot springs

Walked over to the hot springs pool. Temp bubbling from ground about
110. Was nice to chill for an hour. Walked to the old town main
street. Neat 1800 bldgs and hotels from when mining town. Lots of
character for a 6 blk town! Ate Mexican food (first dinner away from
camp). Not Chuys, but worked. Heading to Pagosa Springs in morning
and then Santa Fe. Peace out compadres. Skip.

Mark and I.

Stream / rafting

Yet another pretty stream setting. Last blog tonight. After hike we
signed up for a half day of white water rafting which started and
ended at our campsite. Water was bone ass cold! Took a hot shower to
thaw my toes! To think this is the warmest the water will be! Can't
imagine how cold it will be when wintertime snow melts.

Leaving in the morning for the Black Canyon in Gunnison for
overniter. Been waiting to find hot springs to sit in. Peace out.

Nice path from our RV site to downtown Glenwood Springs. Neat gold
rush/earthy town. Lots of tourist things to do.

Driving to Colorado

Abby helping me drive and lookout for animals on the road. So many
smells!

Just set up campsite here in glenwood. Site right on the river.
Trying to fiqure out if to bike to town, check out kayaks or
sleeepeeepp! Driving is causing us to probably pit stop here for 2
nites to have down time. Taking a cable car up mountain tonight for
live music/charity food drive. Skip.

Flaming Gorge Utah

Went through the Flaming gorge canyon yesterday afternoon in NE Utah.
Made it into Colorado Nw last nite. Not lots up the way so we stopped
off hiway to set up base camp. On our way to Steamboat springs this
morning to stay for a day or two, bike, hot springs. Skip.

Grand Tetons Mountain range

Stayed the nite at the base of the Grand Tetons in NW Wyoming. Snow
capped mountains. Destinctive high point. Just drove thru Jackson
Hole, Wy. Nice lodgy/ski town. Lots of shops. Like to come back one
day here to snow ski. Peace out. Skip.

Old faithful video

Last stop on the yellowstone tour. Old faithful geyser. Erupts every
90 minutes. Amazing display of mother natures power. We are just
little ants on this planet in the grand skeme of things. yellowstone
has big areas of burnt timber from the 1988 fire. All these new
saplings everywhere. Nature has a way of rejuvenating herself. We
all need to be aware of the earth. In grand Teton mountains tonight.
Heading to western Colorado Rockies in the morning. Xxoo. Skip.

This morning we departed mamouth springs to visit a few spots and old
faithful. We met this old chap along the hiway. I think he was
taking the short cut to the pasture near the creek.

Meadow and Abby w Elk

Lots of smells!!! The girls seemed fascinated w the herd. We had a
BBQ campfire w chicken and beans tonight. Did up a few marsh
mellows. Yum!

Right at the base of our campgrounds was a herd of elk. The bull had
his own flock of about 20 . All about 20 feet away. Frank you would

Mamouth Springs

Camping tonight at Mamouth springs, northern part of Yellowstone.
Hiked up to top. Was expecting more geiser hot springs. Came along
this pool area. Lots of hot water and bacteria type formations.
Hopefully old faithful springs will be better. Skip.

Tower falls

Just past the bear was a beautiful waterfall. Hiked down to basin
below.

Grizzly Bear

Driving north in the park today. Incredible landscapes. Came upon a
crowd along hiway and this grizzly bear was walking and eating
alongside. Awesome display of power in nature.
